We absolutely love this place, we've been customers for many years and we feel no other place comes even close, from the friendliness of the staff, the cozy and elegant ambiance to the magnificent and delicious desserts! although we have tried almost everything on the menu we have our favorites, for me is the mascarpone torte, and for my fiance the fruit tart. We have introduce many friends and family to this wonderful place, if people would visit from out of state or even out of the country as part of the "tour of RI" Pastiche is one the "must do" list! We now live in Ohio but every time we come home we make sure we stop by! Thanks for providing us with delicious desserts and good memories!

I discovered Pastiche many years ago when my Uncle owned a flower shop on the hill. I have traveled all around the U.S. and a bit of South America and yet, I can't seem to get enough of the "fruit tart". I have tried everything on the menu but ALWAYS get the fruit tart (EXTREMELY SADDENED when it was off season for awhile). My friend & I would go there almost everyday and every hour when I ran for Mrs. Federal Hill in 96'. I now live in California & I am still trying to find a way to get the fruit tart properly packaged so I can order it at least every two weeks. If it were up to me I would have it morning, noon, and night. Although, I do appreciate the fact there is only one Pastiche and I have something to look forward to when I go back home. I find it to be extraordinarily pleasurable when I visit with my family and friends. I want to thank the owner for the opportunity to experience the incredible hospitality of the workers & THE ONE AND ONLY FRUIT TART (you can't get anywhere else). THANK YOU!

"I moved to New York City in 2000 - where everyone says is the place for gourmet food & fine desserts. Yet, I find that I still miss the earthy Carrot Cake from Pastiche, refreshing Fruit Tart, sinful Banana Cream Pie and comforting Rugelach and Apple Tart.

Whenever I visited Providence, I never missed visiting Federal Hill and bought a lot of desserts from Pastiche ;^)"

"Because I have been a customer for many years, I feel I can give an honest opinion. As everyone who lives in Rhode Island or nearby Mass can attest is that desserts at Pastiche are magnificent. There is not a pastry shop around that can compare with the excellence that Pastiche offers. Choices are impossible to make because everything taste wonderful. The staff is always kind and gracious. No one is ever cranky. When you have courteous staff and impeccable desserts, why would you go anywhere else."

"I grew up in an Italian Irish working class family where birthdays were celebrated with (a grocery store cake) which was all I knew until I was a freshman at R.I.S.D. and discovered among sex and other delicious delightful decadences, Pastiche. Some repeated decadences are not consistently great. Sometimes they are even dull and uninspiring, tasteless. Pastiche has been always an ecstatic sensory indulgence. May it never change!!"

"We began enjoying desserts from Pastiche in 1985 or 1986.....so long ago we can't remember the actual year! It was a simple bakery without the cafe then. Since then we have moved four times around the northeast, but when visiting home, a stop at Pastiche was always at the top of our list. When friends and family would visit us they would be sure to bring a Pastiche dessert across the miles. Since moving back to RI about 12 years ago, we have been loyal customers at the cafe."
